Hi John, this is Annette Taddeo and I’m running to be the next Governor of Florida. I want to tell you personally why I’m running to be the next Governor of Florida and defeat Ron DeSantis. I have a fighting spirit. I know, because my father had that same spirit within himself. He was an American pilot during World War II and taught me never to back down.

In my life, I’ve had to fight. I was born with a cleft lip. Growing up, I was bullied, teased, told I would never be normal. I needed 19 surgeries to just smile, John.

As a teenager, my father was kidnapped by a Marxist terrorist group. I know firsthand the pain extremist politics can inflict on a family.

But like I said, I have my father’s fighting spirit, John, and we persevered. I worked my way through college and in my early twenties founded my company LanguageSpeak, which has been listed in the Top 100 Small Businesses in Florida.

And in 2017, I decided to step up and serve my community in Tallahassee. I ran in a special election, flipped my seat from red to blue, and became the first Latina Democrat ever elected to Florida’s State Senate.

Today, I live the American Dream. I’m a working mom and a small business owner. But there are countless talented and hard-working Floridians just like me who haven’t had the same opportunities to succeed.

I’m running for Governor because I believe in them. I believe in us.

I’m asking you to believe in me – to believe that together, John, you and I can defeat Ron DeSantis and change the course of Florida.

On January 11th, I will enter a legislative session and be unable to fundraise for 60 days. Before then, I have to raise $100,000 in order to make up for lost ground and build a winning campaign.
