First of all, I'd like to wish you and yours a Happy New Year. I hope you get some time to relax and reflect, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy some well-deserved time off after a long year.
I'd also like to say thank you.
You are an important part of this team. I want to tell you how much your involvement means not only to me personally, but also to the success of our campaign.
I know we sent a lot of fundraising requests before yesterday's important FEC deadline. And that is because it is contributions from people like you that make this campaign possible.
After we file our FEC report, we are going to announce how much money we've raised as well as how many contributions our campaign has received.
I hope the numbers we report will make you proud to be a part of this team. Because there is only one way we are going to have the resources to flip this Senate seat and defeat Ron Johnson, and that is from lots of people contributing what they can.
The December FEC fundraising deadline was a very big moment for our campaign. As you know, the Wisconsin Senate race has been rated one of the most likely to flip in 2022. And once our numbers become public, our opponents and the media are going to look at them to determine whether we are building the kind of campaign that can win this primary and win back this seat for Democrats in November.
I am very humbled by the level of support this campaign has received so far. What we are doing is showing that when we come together around a bold vision for change, we can achieve incredible things.
As long as we continue building our movement across Wisconsin and the country, we are going to defeat Ron Johnson, defend the Democratic Senate majority, and guarantee everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Once again, I am extremely thankful that you are a part of this team. We simply would not be where we are today without people like you.
I'm excited to start a new chapter in 2022, and even more excited that we get to do it together.
