Did you see the news? The Homestead detention center is officially empty after its contract was not renewed by the Department of Health & Human Services. We did this, and it’s no small feat. It’s something to celebrate.

This is a huge milestone in our resistance against the Trump administration's inhumane immigration policies. To hold thousands of children in such atrocious conditions is something that we can never forgive nor forget.

Now, we need to close it permanently. Can you add your name to call on the Department of Health & Human Services to permanently shutter Homestead and every single other detention center that houses children today?

The fight is not over yet.

We can’t grow complacent with one win as dozens of other for-profit child detention centers operate throughout the country. The thought that our country profits off locking up children separated from their families is appalling.
