I hope you are spending the last day of this year healthy, happy, and with loved ones. As 2021 comes to a close, I’m thinking – as always – of my incarcerated brothers and sisters. I’m thinking of those that cannot celebrate the new year with their loved ones; those that are held in conditions that made it difficult to social distance. 

The justice reform field has made great advances this past year. As an organization, we have accomplished so much that I am proud of. We’ll now help an additional 50,000 incarcerated people with the expansion of our HART team to all California prisons. We expanded our policy work to include national legislation. We launched a podcast to continue our mission of elevating the voices of those who are system-impacted. I am hopeful for the future, and I know with you by our side we will continue to persevere in our fight for equal justice.
