I want to send you some final thoughts before we launch into 2022 tomorrow and the midterm election year officially begins.

At a time of an unprecedented public health crisis, national Republicans are spreading lies, disinformation, and conspiracy theories, and they’re showing no signs of changing.

But while the GOP is continuing to excuse and elevate Donald Trump and his attacks on our democracy — we cannot lose hope or give up on love . We won’t defeat hate with spite or fight injustice with injustice. It’s not right. It’s not what I stand for and I don’t think it’s what you stand for either.

We need to stop lies by telling the truth. Put basic kindness, empathy, and decency above all. Because if our work is to build a more just, more loving nation, then we need to lead with love.

In order to keep these values on the agenda in Congress, we need to lead with them in our campaigns.

You won’t see the kind of mudslinging or spitefulness that has too often become a trademark of modern campaigns on this one because that’s not what I’m about. And driving people further apart is not how we’re going to heal as a country. By supporting our campaign, you’re supporting a vision to make our politics more honest and more compassionate. And that means everything to me.
