What a night, John!

Last night, with the help of four critical DFA-endorsed candidate victories, Democrats took control of both chambers of Virginia's General Assembly.

We’re celebrating BIG. Not only was last night’s historic flip a victory for the people of the Commonwealth, it’s a victory that DFA has been working toward for the last six years.

Back in March 2013, a lot of folks thought we were nuts for making an overwhelmingly ‘red’ state like Virginia the flagship of our multi-year, multi-state, multi-million dollar Purple to Blue campaign to flip Governors, State Houses, and State Senate Chambers across the country by the end of 2020.

They said it couldn’t be done. They were wrong! All thanks to folks like you stepping up to fuel our movement.

We can’t let up now. It’s clear we’ve got the energy, momentum, and grassroots power to flip even more seats all across the country — from the State House to the White House. It’s critical we build on these victories to fund our 2020 ‘Red to Blue’ efforts and continue to elect progressives up and down the ballot. Pitch in $5 now:

We were honored to endorse and work hand-in-hand with Ghazala Hashmi (VA-SD-10), Joshua Cole (VA-HD-28), Elizabeth Guzman (VA-HD-31) and Danica Roem (VA-HD-13) ahead of their victories tonight.

Each fought their heart out to win their race and, in office, will work tirelessly for the communities they serve, and we look forward to working with them every step of the way.

Tonight, after years of hard work, Virginians finally have a government that represents their proud progressive values.
