When we founded Open Progress, we had some big ideas––we wanted to connect to voters across the country, we wanted to talk to them and not at them, and we wanted to return our democracy back to where it belongs: in the hearts and hands of the people. That’s the story we set out to write. Our story would be nothing, though, without you and our entire Text Troop community.
In an “off-year” (although we know there are never off-years or races too small for us to fight for them!), we’ve sent 4.1 million texts to voters across the country. We’ve worked in statewide races, we’ve worked in municipal races, and we’ve brought the same attention, energy, and passion to all of them.
And because we worked our democracy, last night we won victories for our democracy––in Kentucky, Connecticut, & North Carolina.
This 🌊 BLUE WAVE🌊 is ongoing and headed straight into 2020! TOMORROW, we're texting to flip our first congressional seat of the year: Alaina Shearer for OH-12!
2020 is nothing less than the soul of our country at stake. Absolutely everything we hold dear is on the ballot and absolutely everything is on the line––our norms, our institutions, our freedoms, our civilities, not to mention expanding our House majority, flipping the Senate, taking back statehouses across the country, building our bench in local races, and, of course, making Donald Trump a one-term President.
If anyone can achieve all of that, it is Open Progress Text Troop. I’m so grateful to be one of us and in this fight together. I’m inspired to keep talking one voter at a time with you, John.
