Let’s build on our successes in 2022 and take the work for Palestine to a new level! Dear Email, 2021 has certainly been tumultuous for Palestine. Israel was trying to run things business as usual with home demolitions, administrative detentions, and erasure of sacred spaces. We did, however, witness the largest mass movement for Palestine in years dubbed as the "Unity Intifada" which brought together Palestinians across borders and united the various dimensions of our struggle for liberation as a people. In the U.S. we saw people from all backgrounds hit the streets calling for justice for Palestine and the Palestinians leading to a shift in the way Palestine was discussed in the media and in the halls of Congress. As an organization, we have been at the forefront of this work. Our team, whether on the national level with our staff or the local level with our chapters, has been taking this work to new heights. No matter what the Palestinian people dealt with this year, our team was ready. |

By now, you’ve seen the polls done this year that show more popular support for Palestinian rights including 50% of Americans who think military aid must be restricted and a majority of Democrats who believe the U.S. should be exerting its pressure against Israel. These stats are part of the broader proof of how the trajectory is trending upwards in favor of Palestine. It’s proof of how far we have come and how much the dam has cracked. But these stats are meant to be built on. As we speak, Israeli forces are targeting Palestinians in the West Bank village of Burqa where dozens of people have been injured and Palestinian homes destroyed displacing families. As we start a new year, Israel is determined to show us that it is capable of committing the same old crimes and getting away with them. We must be even more determined to make sure that does not happen. Our team is ready to take on 2022, all we need is your support. Together, we were able to crack the dam of US support for Israel this year. Let’s build on this work together and take this movement to new heights. |
