As we head into the new year, I wanted to share that I am ending my Congressional campaign in Florida’s 1st District to defeat Matt Gaetz. Our campaign united voters from across the political spectrum, and showed a viable way forward to one day elect a candidate who reflects Northwest Florida’s good character. I’m grateful for the support and encouragement I’ve received throughout the country.
I am redirecting my efforts to fight disinformation and misinformation which threatens social cohesion and democratic governance in the United States and around the world. This new project is the George Washington Initiative, an information civil defense force that defends democracy.

GWI’s approach to combating DisMis relies on strategies developed by the information warfare community and from cutting-edge research. We will conduct operations to disrupt, degrade, and destroy DisMis networks wherever they operate, and provide tools to empower GWI members and the public to take offensive action in the information domain. The work we’re doing is innovative and exciting, and we hope you’ll join us in safeguarding democracy.
