I hope you understand why I'm writing again today: 400,000 children are at risk of starvation
Hello, John,
I'm sorry to be sending such a serious email on what is supposed to be a day of celebration, but the circumstances require it... and I know you will understand.
The crises our clients around the world are facing are immense. In Yemen alone, 2.3 million children are suffering from severe malnutrition, and 400,000 children could starve without immediate treatment.
Yemen is the world's worst humanitarian crisis. More than six years of violent conflict have displaced more than 1 in 10 people, decimated the medical system and caused the prices of staple foods like rice to skyrocket.
With widespread malnutrition, a shattered economy, and collapsed public health system, families in Yemen are looking to the IRC to help provide the essentials for survival.
It's critical that you, and all of our most engaged supporters, understand just how dire the situation is in Yemen — and why we need your help today. That's why I'm sending this one last email before we close 2021.
