Dear John,
As the year comes to an end, we reflect on our accomplishments and look ahead to our goals for the coming year and beyond. I am grateful for the opportunity to join an institution with such a storied history that dates back to the 1980s. MPAC has been the vanguard of representing American Muslim values on Capitol Hill and the Executive Branch. I am honored to continue this work as MPAC’s new Director of Policy and Government Relations.
Your commitment and support powers this critical work. Because of you, we were able to:
-
Address the Double Standards of U.S. FTO vs. DTO Prosecution to end discrimination of Muslims by the Department of Homeland Security
-
Emphasize the need to close Guantanamo by hosting Attorney Nancy Hollander and Mohamedou Ould Slahi, featured in The Mauritanian, the inspiring true story of Slahi’s fight for freedom from wrongful imprisonment
-
Expand our pipeline to public service for American Muslim youth through our Congressional Leadership Development Program
-
Hold Eid Prayers in the U.S. Capitol
-
Convene interfaith leaders for media presence in support of Palestinian rights
-
Empower American Afghans and engage government officials and Hill staff through our summit with Afghan American Foundation to reframe the narrative of the ongoing crisis
I am proud of our policy team and encouraged by the possibilities in the year to come. Together we will advocate for fair policies in the halls of Congress and expand our efforts to serve our community’s interests through new initiatives and opportunities to convene government leaders.
As we embark on this mission, we look to you with gratitude for your support this year and for your continued investment towards a more prosperous future for all of us. We are $9551 away from our year-end goal. Can you support this work with a tax-deductible, zakat-eligible donation today?
