Happy New Year's Eve, friend!

2021 has been a challenging year, but it's also been a year full of hope. While we've fought the COVID-19 pandemic, the vaccines have given us a renewed hope that we can end this pandemic. And while we witnessed a horrific insurrection at the start of 2021, our democracy has prevailed.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are leading the fight to rebuild a stronger country for everyone, and we've made critical progress in Congress this past year. We passed legislation from the House to provide COVID-19 relief, invest in our infrastructure, Build Back Better, protect voting rights, safeguard our democracy, fight for equality and justice, and so much more. While some of these important bills have become law, we need to keep fighting to get the other ones across the finish line too.

The progress we've made is important, but we still have so much work ahead of us. I know together, we can protect our House majority in the new year and keep moving our country forward.

I'm so grateful to be able to serve you in Congress every day. And in 2022, I will keep working to make progress for you. I will wake up every morning working to make our economy – and our Congress – work better for the American people.

I can't wait to see what we accomplish together in the New Year, team. If you're with me in the work ahead to build a stronger nation for all of us, will you chip in whatever you can before our final end-of-year deadline tonight at midnight?

It's an honor to serve you,

Derek
