As I reflect on 2021, I am so proud of what we have accomplished with the support of donors like you, despite all the challenges this year has brought.

• We mobilized supporters on the ground and built a groundswell of activists who are ready to take action to protect our environment — like our Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) Defender Team, which includes over 120 of our best volunteers across the state who have dedicated hours of time phone banking, generating petition signatures, and writing letters to the editor to boost awareness around RGGI.
• We launched a massive new program advocating for the Build Back Better Act — the most significant federal action to combat climate change, ever — empowering and enabling our members to contact their representatives in Congress over 3,000 times;
• We ran a brand new kind of canvass in Chester County and knocked on over 10,000 doors this fall to learn more about what “split ticket” voters care about and how we can move them to consistently vote for environmental champions up and down the ballot;
• And we piloted a new program to identify tens of thousands of new pro-environment residents in the Poconos who could potentially galvanize bold local and state policy change.

Next year, we are faced with overwhelming challenges and critical opportunities.

We need to keep defending against attempts by far-right legislators to block environmental progress and voting rights. We need to elect a pro-conservation governor or face devastating rollbacks to environmental protection. And we need to continue expanding into communities across the state – listening to, engaging, and giving Pennsylvanians the power to stand up to their leaders on issues like climate change, clean energy, and environmental justice.

You know, this work has never been more important. Time is running out to avoid an all-out climate catastrophe. We’re up for meeting this challenge and others that lie ahead, but we count on your donations to help us keep going.
