Right now, it feels like we don’t know what the coming year will bring. But whatever challenges we may face, here at Equality Now, we always have hope. 

We hope for a feminist future…

• with laws that represent and protect women and girls. 

• where law enforcement and social services take a victim-centered approach to their work.  

• where compassionate communities help survivors in telling their stories and accessing justice. 

We have hope, and most importantly, we also have you. It's your support that will ultimately help us build a more equal world for all women and girls across the globe, and we could not be more grateful.

In 2021, your support of our efforts and that of our partners has seen: 

• The Kenyan High Court affirms the ban on female genital mutilation.

• Rhode Island and New York become the fifth and sixth states in the United States to outlaw child marriage. 

• Georgia now has specially trained investigators and prosecutors who will use a survivor-centered, trauma-informed approach for all rape cases in the country.

These are all tremendous achievements, but we also know there is much work left to do in 2022 and beyond to ensure a future where all girls can live safe, fearless, and free.
