Friend,
Thank you so much for your support this year, and for your work to make this world a better place. As this year comes to an end, I wanted to share some things we’ve accomplished together for residents of my congressional district.
Just in the past year, our team called, texted, and knocked on doors of more than 115,000 residents. We checked on their needs and priorities, particularly helping people with the process of securing FEMA disaster relief after devastating floods.
Through our Neighborhood Service Centers, we’re responding to constituents’ needs, such as helping people get back pay, Social Security benefits, veteran benefits, utility and water assistance, debt relief, tax returns, and more.
We fought alongside neighborhood residents to hold local corporations and polluters accountable.
And, this year through my Rooted in Community Leadership PAC, we trained young community leaders and people interested in running for public office.
In addition to our federal work for everyone who calls this country home, we’ve been able to bring about meaningful change in the lives of our district’s residents.
But this is just the beginning. As the pandemic rages on and billionaires keep getting richer at our expense, we’re going to need to do even more next year to fight oppression and ensure that our communities can thrive.
Will you help fuel our work for 2022 by making an end-of-year contribution to my reelection campaign today? Please chip in what you can now for the fight ahead.
Thank you so much.
Throughout my life of public service, I’ve been focused on the needs of my community. That’s why I ran for public office, to fight for us.
My district, which includes Detroit, is one of the lowest-wealth districts in the country. Here, generations of people have experienced government disinvestment and a growing racial wealth gap.
Thanks to you this year, we fundraised for organizations doing flood relief for displaced families and seniors in my district, and in total this past year we raised over $55,124 for local organizations.
You’ve helped groups whose work ranges from expanding abortion access, to addressing food insecurity, to fighting cash bail, to providing services for Indigenous health, to securing the safety and rights of queer and trans people of color. Thank you!
Thank you for helping us do the necessary public service work of responding to our constituents’ needs. It’s how we create a government that works for all of us, not just the wealthy few.
Can you chip in to power our work for 2022?
