We’ve seen unprecedented battles this year over what can be taught and read in classrooms. Online mobs are attacking writers with hate and vitriol. Disinformation is threatening our discourse and prolonging the pandemic. The right to protest, dissent, and report the news are in the crosshairs.

So as you settle down to see off the old year and ring in what we hope will be a better 2022, please give what you can. Commit to protecting the freedom to write with us. ([link removed])
