I’m sure your email inbox is swamped with Political Parties, Political Action Committees and Candidates asking you for end-of-year donations to their campaigns.

I would like you to consider not giving to a political campaign for the balance of December, but to a nonprofit who could really use your help.

According to Charity Navigator, the world's largest and most trusted nonprofit evaluator:

·        31% of annual giving occurred in the month of December
·        12% of annual giving occurs on the last 3 days of the year
·        28% of nonprofits raise between 26 – 50% of their annual funds from their year-end ask

The last three days of December are crucial for our nonprofits to raise much needed funds so they can continue to feed the hungry and shelter the homeless. The nonprofits are the heart for children and adults who have fallen on hard times and animals in crisis.

As we wind down the year, consider donating or volunteering to your favorite charity, sponsor and send food to the staff at a hospital or fulfill a classroom supply list for a teacher. The list of non-profits and opportunities to help are endless.

Together, we will make a difference!
Best Always,
Joan Greene
