5 Things Conservative Christians Can Look Forward to in 2022
By: Paul Batura
If Anne of Green Gables was right – that “looking forward to things is half the pleasure of them” – what might lift our spirits and provide us reason for optimism heading into 2022?
By most measures, there’s been no shortage of bad news this past year. From the ongoing pandemic and all its related inane and illogic politics to bad and destructive policies about human sexuality and gender such as allowing biological males to use female restrooms, a dramatic rise in crime and overall lawlessness, a breakdown of the supply chain, the tragic and preventable deaths of Marines in Afghanistan, ongoing religious persecution in the Middle East, the swearing in of a new class of liberal-minded federal judges and the ongoing reckless spending of taxpayer dollars – it’s easy to be sober-minded about our current prospects.
Yet, as Christians, we’re called to be hopeful people. As the late Pope John Paul II declared, “Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song!”

Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Cases Challenging Vaccine Mandates on January 7
By: Zachary Mettler
The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to take up two cases challenging two of the federal government’s vaccine mandates – one of which requires companies with over 100 employees to force their workers to get a COVID-19 vaccine, or regularly test and mask at work.
On December 22, 2021, the Supreme Court announced it will hear arguments on January 7, 2022 over whether the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) can lawfully mandate large employers to coerce their employees into receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. OSHA did this through the creation of an emergency temporary standard (ETS).
After the Sixth Circuit decided 2-1 on December 17, 2021 to allow OSHA to implement the ETS, numerous petitions were filed with the Supreme Court to stay (stop) the mandate from taking effect. The court has opted to delay a decision on those requests pending the newly scheduled argument on January 7.
The Supreme Court’s brief order is as follows:
“Consideration of the applications (21A244 and 21A247) for stay presented to Justice Kavanaugh and by him referred to the Court is deferred pending oral argument. The applications are consolidated, and a total of one hour is allotted for oral argument. The applications are set for oral argument on Friday, January 7, 2022.”

Faith-Based Women’s Shelter Wins Court Victory for Right to Exclude Biological Men
By: Bruce Hausknecht
Radical gender ideology has gotten so out of hand that woke city governments want women’s shelters to also house actual men who say they are women. Most of the women who use those shelters have been physically and sexually abused by men in the past, so it’s more than just an invasion of privacy that’s at stake. It involves psychological, emotional, and physical safety as well.
One such city is Anchorage, Alaska, whose public accommodations ordinance demands that businesses cannot discriminate on the basis of gender identity. When the city demanded that the Downtown Hope Center (Hope Center), a Christian ministry, allow biological men claiming to be women to use its overnight facilities reserved for women, the shelter fought back in court – and won.
U.S. District Court Judge Sharon L. Gleason ruled recently that Hope Center is not a “public accommodation” and is therefore not bound by the city’s public accommodation ordinance.
That’s an important victory for the ministry at a time when government entities around the country continue to push ministries to adhere to laws that violate basic freedoms such as religious exercise and free speech.

Walgreens Sadly Goes Potty Mouth for Christmas

By: The Daily Citizen
Many of us depend on Walgreens for the last-minute items our families need in a pinch, be it medicine in the middle of the night, school science project-deadline supplies, or that extra can of fried onion sprinkles for grandma’s yummy casserole. That corner store is always close-by, dependable, and friendly.
But this year, the always reliable retailer has sadly gone potty mouth in its celebration of the Savior’s birthday, and it is certainly not a good look for them.
The Daily Citizen will spare you at least one more exposure to dirty talk by not linking to the commercials. But these widely aired television advertisements try to be too clever in showing various moms and dads tending to last-minute Christmas duties. Each finds themselves in that all too familiar fix of “not-enough-wrapping-paper” or “just-one-gift-short” of a truly Merry Christmas for everyone. In their frustration, each mom or dad drops a verbal crudity. But they are cut off at the first syllable of said-word only to be followed by a faithful Walgreens employee happily calling their name (which “cleverly” starts with the first letter of the interrupted potty-word) handing mom or dad a helpful bag containing the instant solution to the
language-inducing problem.
Christmas crisis averted, thanks to Walgreens.

Elon Musk Blasts ‘Woke’ Culture, Warns of Declining Birth Rate in Interview with The
Babylon Bee
By: Zachary Mettler
Elon Musk recently sat down with the folks over at The Babylon Bee for a wide-ranging interview that was unsurprisingly filled with funny jokes and a whole lot of sarcasm. The Bee’s CEO Seth Dhillon, Editor in Chief Kyle Mann and Creative Director Ethan Nicole spoke with Musk, the famed car maker and innovator, for over one and a half hours.
Musk has become a fan of The Babylon Bee’s content, often replying on Twitter to their satire pieces. This led The Bee’s Editor in Chief to tell Musk during the interview, “You know Babylon Bee headlines better than I do.”
The trio also picked his brain on serious topics like the world’s declining birthrate, the problems with “woke culture” and the “metaverse,” along with more lighthearted ones, like whether he would rather be Iron Man or Batman. Musk, who is currently the world’s richest man worth $243 billion, had several insightful comments about many issues our culture is grappling with today.
For years, so-called “experts” have been warning that the world has too many people, and that overpopulation is going to lead to famine, widespread starvation, and social upheaval. This idea was popularized by Stanford University Professor Paul Ehrlich’s alarmist book The Population Bomb, written in 1968. Rightly, Musk disagrees.
