John,

This is Mary Elizabeth Castle, Senior Policy Advisor for Texas Values. I want to share with you personally about the work I have been able to do for Texas Values this year, thanks to our generous supporters.

Our President Jonathan Saenz recently emailed you about our urgent need to meet our year-end goal before midnight today.

I hope my email is an encouragement and reminder of the impact your financial support of Texas Values, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, has for Texas.

During the Texas Legislative Session earlier this year, I was able to be on the ground every day talking with legislators and their staff at the Capitol, educating them about the latest developments on life, marriage, and religious freedom. Making strides in pro-life, pro-religious liberty, and pro-family policies!

I am also thankful to be a part of our successful efforts at the Texas Capitol to pass pro-life laws, including the monumental Texas Heartbeat Law; and to pass a religious freedom law protecting churches from government shut-downs. Below are many victories I helped the Texas Values team accomplish:

  • Lead state legislative efforts to pass the strongest pro-life law in the country, the Texas Heartbeat Law, protecting churches and religious organizations from being shut down during a disaster.
  • Initiated and lead advocacy efforts in the Texas Legislature to protect fair play in women’s sports by prohibiting biological males from competing in biological females’ sports in high school.
  • Joined other organizations in filing an amicus legal brief to support the Mississippi pro-life case Dobbs v. Jackson currently before the U.S. Supreme Court.
  • Initiated and lead advocacy efforts in the Texas Legislature to pass the Texas Freedom to Worship Law, HB 1239

In addition to the work during the legislative sessions, I have helped with Texas Values’ efforts protecting Texas children across the state to:

  • Stopping the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) from adopting pornographic and inappropriate Health textbooks for K-12 students in Texas and helping the SBOE adopt abstinence-focused and age-appropriate Health textbooks to be used in schools.
  • Working with legislators, specifically Senator Bryan Hughes, to change the law to make sex education and human sexuality Opt-In, where schools must have permission from a parent to teach a child sex education.
  • Continuing efforts to stop gender modification in children.
  • Educating the public about how the Texas Heartbeat law saves babies’ lives.

I am so passionate about the work God has called me to do to protect the next generation of Texans. With attacks like never before, we need a united brigade in order to protect the children in the state of Texas.

Will you join me in ensuring faith, family, and freedom are protected for our future generations?

Thanks again to several of our generous supporters, we have a $50,000 Matching Challenge underway that will DOUBLE the impact of your tax-deductible gift to Texas Values.

By midnight tonight, it’s crucial that we raise the support needed to continue our work for faith, family, and freedom in 2020. I sincerely hope you will make a gift online TODAY so that we take full advantage of our match.

Thank you for helping me fight to ensure the values of faith, family, and freedom are passed on to the next generation!

Keep fighting the good fight,

Mary Elizabeth Castle
