This year is going to be a big one in Texas.

You know it. I know it. Hell, the rest of the country knows it. And I want to share a couple thoughts about what 2022 is going to mean for our state -- and what we can do right now to prepare for it.

All eyes have been on Texas for a long time now. And not just on our state legislature, or Greg Abbott’s attacks, but on us. On this team. Because as much as Texas is the Republican factory of bad ideas, it’s also the heart of the resistance.

And in the new year, we’re going to show Greg Abbott exactly what we’re made of.

Friend, all year long I’ve had a front row seat to the grit and drive of this team. When GOP leaders abandoned us, you stepped up for Texans in need. When the attacks just kept coming in the Texas Capitol, you held the line for as long as you could.

When I think about the work ahead of us, I feel optimistic. Why? Because I trust this team. This last year, we saw our Texas Democratic movement come together and rise up for the future of our state with one determined, powerful voice. And if 2021 is any indication, we’re about to raise a whole lot more hell in 2022.

Friend, we’re fighting for a Texas where working folks have a real chance to get ahead. Where every single person can get the healthcare they need -- no matter their race, their gender, their income, or their zip code. Where those who represent us have our best interests at heart -- and power is finally back in the hands of the people.
