Hi,

I wanted to write to you in case you missed my email a few days ago. Reflecting on 2021 as it comes to a close, there was positive progress — we reforested communities, made climate literacy a priority, raised awareness on many important environmental issues globally, and more.

But it is not enough — we need to put more pressure on global governments and corporations to help us stop climate change and restore our planet before it’s too late.

Time is up. We need change now. Will you donate to help make 2022 a year of transformative change? <[link removed]>

Thank you for your support as we enter a new year with fresh possibilities, and happy new year to you and your family.

Kathleen Rogers

Hi,

How many more years will we say next year is the one for real change?

After the past two years, we can see clearly the tight links between human behavior and the twin crises of climate change and our health. Despite overwhelming evidence that human actions are creating an uninhabitable world, politicians and corporations are dragging their feet on change.

How frequent do once-in-a-thousand-years natural disasters need to become before we enact real change? How many zoonotic disease outbreaks do there need to be for leaders to see that habitat destruction isn’t just killing animals, it’s killing us? How many studies and conferences do we need to have before leaders around the world pass laws to stop the damage and hold corporations accountable?

Take action now to advocate for change, by making a donation to EARTHDAY‍.ORG.  <[link removed]>

We know what is causing these disasters and destroying our planet — we, humans, are doing this. We also have the power, not only to stop this, but to turn back the clock and restore our planet.

These crises require us to channel the energy of the environmental movement into effective mobilization. Fifty-one years ago, 20 million people showed up for the cause — the first Earth Day — and took to the streets, forcing our leaders to pass laws that protect the planet. We need that level of collective outrage and action again.

We left COP26 unimpressed with the progress made — the need to put pressure on our governments to take action is greater than ever. Earth Day is in four months, but we need to take action every day.

Please, help us advocate for meaningful change to safeguard our planet, by making a donation today.  <[link removed]>

In solidarity,

Kathleen Rogers

President
