John Today, we released the most detailed and comprehensive plan in the field to make green, affordable, and equitable housing a reality. It’s a big day for our grassroots movement — because Housing is a human right, and we don't compromise on human rights. But this is going to be a tough fight. Corporations and their executives have a lot of money, they have a lot of influence, and they have armies of lobbyists ready to fight even the most incremental reforms. The current incumbent, Sheila Jackson-Lee, has accumulated $220,000 in contributions from the gentrification and housing industry over her 25 years in congress. To make matters worse, Marc Flores, a former Republican, is running in the primary as well with the backing of the local gentrification industry. This means that the corporate elite of Houston are worried, and righteously so. They’re worried because of organizers like you and I who know that housing is a human right. We just unveiled our vision for housing in Houston. Please take some time to read all about it and share it with your friends and family. Housing as a Human Right in Houston That's why we need you in this fight. Everyone who chips in even just a little bit owns an equal piece of this movement, and it's up to all of us to fight for our city’s future. DONATE TODAY!
