John, huge news!

We won two victories for Real Justice last night – Steve Descano in
Fairfax, VA and Parisa Dehghani-Tafti in Arlington County, VA. And we’re
still waiting on one more race which is razor-thin.

These wins bring us that much closer to turning the tide on mass
incarceration and racist policing. District by district, we’re moving our
country away from legal systems that criminalize poverty, that fail to
hold police accountable for crimes – and toward healing our communities.

We’re so grateful to everyone who voted, volunteered, donated, and told
your friends and family to get involved, too. Everyone played a part.
Together, we are overcoming entrenched incumbents and massive spending by
shady groups spending big to protect prisons and police.

Because of your support, combined we were able to invest more than $54,000
to help the candidates, reach hundreds of thousands of potential voters on
social media, and support a big direct mail strategy to swing voters.

And where we lost – Shani Curry Mitchell in Rochester, NY and Hobie
Crystle in Lancaster, PA – those races were hard fought, but we can’t
allow ourselves to be out-organized or out-spent again.

We know these races don’t get as much press as others. But they have
tremendous power to create change and dismantle the structural racism and
classism that plagues our legal system.

real justice – town by town, district by district, all over the country.
