Gray wolf

Hi John,

2021 ends in a few hours, and with it a generous 1:1 match for every dollar given to the Saving Life on Earth Fund. Please give by our midnight deadline to make this match count.

Our fights for wildlife were unyielding this year — and came with many wins.

We won protection on nearly 195 million acres of critical habitat for 33 endangered species in 2021, including yellow-billed cuckoos in the Southwest, Humboldt martens in California and Oregon, and candy darters in the Southeast.

We restored protection on 10 million acres of greater sage grouse habitat in the West — and kicked livestock off 300 river miles in Arizona and New Mexico.

We secured legal protection for 116,000 square miles of critical habitat for endangered Pacific humpback whales and stopped off-roading in critical habitat for rare western snowy plovers at Oceano Dunes in Southern California.

But so much work remains in the year ahead, which is why your year-end tax-deductible donation can't wait.

This will be my final request of the year — please take this moment to contribute to the Saving Life on Earth Fund.

In the year ahead, we'll continue our fights to keep oil drilling out of the Arctic and along our coastlines.

We won't stop going after states that put gray wolves and other carnivores in harm's way.

Manatees are starving to death at heartbreaking rates — we'll need to continue to ensure they have clean water to live in and enough food to survive.

And, as ever, we'll be defending the Endangered Species Act, the law that underpins so much of our legal work in defense of species large and small.

We've shown time and time again that we can win for wildlife. Over the past 30 years, the Center has locked in protections for 727 species and more than half a billion acres of critical habitat.

The extinction crisis requires bold, fierce action. We're ready — but we need you with us.

Double your gift now to our Saving Life on Earth Fund. All gifts through midnight tonight will be matched.

For the wild,

Kierán Suckling
