At least he’s not subtle.
Cory Gardner just released a new campaign ad, and it takes dead aim at our top priority. The ad dismisses the climate crisis and any serious attempt to solve it.
Here’s what Gardner is claiming: “The Green New Deal kills jobs. It’ll bankrupt this country, and it’s a radical move toward a socialist energy and economic policy.”
That’s nonsense. Colorado’s economy—like most of the world’s—will be decimated by the climate crisis. The Green New Deal will create millions of good jobs and a much healthier environment.
Gardner’s stance is no surprise. He’s the second biggest recipient of oil and gas money in Congress.
Unfortunately, Gardner isn’t the only Senate candidate who opposes the Green New Deal. John Hickenlooper does too—he even compared progressive priorities like these to “the discredited ideas of Karl Marx and Joseph Stalin”!
That’s outrageous, but it shows what we’re up against: not one but two opponents funded by the fossil fuel industry and unwilling to bite the hand that feeds them.
Unlike Gardner and Hickenlooper, Andrew doesn’t take fossil fuel money. Our campaign is powered instead by people like you—supporters who understand that we face a climate emergency and that we can’t frack our way out of it.
If climate action matters to you, please chip in $5 or anything you can afford right now.
We need your help because we’re being forced to fight on two fronts. The National Republican Senatorial Committee and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee—both dependent on corporate cash—are mounting attacks against us.
The good news: most voters support our approach, not Washington’s. They want to replace Cory Gardner with a climate champion.
With your help, we can make that happen.
This is a people-powered campaign. We’re rejecting all PAC donations and relying instead on supporters like you.
