Over the past few days, you've heard from many ACLU staffers working across a range of civil liberties issues asking you to support our 2022 Action Fund.

And before the year comes to a close, I wanted to add myself to the chorus of voices you've heard from and make my own personal ask for your support.

I know it's been a lot of emails from our team, but that's because the work ahead of us in 2022 is critical and millions of people will be counting on the ACLU to do what we do best: defend America's most fundamental freedoms.

And we can't be there for them without the necessary resources from committed supporters like you.

That's why I'm urging you to make a year-end gift of $35, $50, or more to the ACLU's 2022 Action Fund before today's midnight deadline. Your giving will ensure that our attorneys, advocates, and volunteers in every state as well as D.C. and Puerto Rico have the resources they need to combat the challenges we'll face in the new year.

With your generosity fueling our efforts, the ACLU will be able to:

• Defend reproductive freedom and be prepared for a variety of Supreme Court rulings that could impact Roe v. Wade
• Combat suppressive voting laws and gerrymandered maps that are aimed at stifling the full voting power of Indigenous people, Black people, and people of color
• Lead in addressing the mass incarceration crisis by pushing lawmakers at every level of government to adopt change that will shorten sentences and provide alternatives to imprisonment
• Block new laws that hinder transgender youth from living fully and freely
• Advocate for policies that will help our country undo racial inequity that has plagued America since its inception

There's so much at stake, and so much impact we can make in 2022. But we'll only see that impact become real if we continue working together.
