The Seventh Day in the Octave of Christmas

Readings of the Day

As I reflect on the Gospel reading this New Year's Eve, verses 4-5
stood out to me: "What came to be through him was life, and this
life was the light of the human race; the light shines in the darkness
and the darkness has not overcome it."

Let us enter the New Year with the light of Jesus Christ.  Live
life full of God's grace and truth. It is this light that God
gives us that helps us feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, walk
with the immigrants and grieve with the lonely. It is God's
grace and truth that lifts us up and sustains our strength during the
dark times that life throws at us.

In 2022, let us be the hands and feet of Christ to those who are
experiencing the darkness and help them encounter the light of
Christ.  It is through our actions that we bring his words to
life and nurture his dwelling among us.

Jennifer Bibbo just celebrated 5 years as the Director of Outreach
& Pastoral Care at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Austin,
Texas.
