Friend,
Did you catch the email from Mark Ruffalo earlier today?
I am incredibly grateful to Mark for helping us out during EWG’s year-end campaign. He has already done so much to help raise awareness of PFAS chemicals in our communities.
He challenged 250 donors to give to EWG before midnight today so we can stay on track.
I want to give Mark an update on our fundraising numbers (and hopefully tell him we hit our goal!), but we are still 100 donors short. Do you have a quick minute to help?
Reminder: All gifts are MATCHED until Friday, 12/31.
We know you believe in this work, but we are running out of time to hit our 2021 goal, and your donation is essential to staying on track. I know there are many good organizations that will seek your help. Please know how honored we are when you choose to make a gift to EWG.
Thanks so much for your support, friend.
Ken Cook,
President and Co-founder, EWG

Subject: Important message re: PFAS
Dear friend, There is one organization that puts protecting our health from toxic chemicals above all else: EWG. EWG exposed the presence of PFAS chemicals in the drinking water of 200 million Americans. It has worked tirelessly to push federal legislation forward that would finally regulate PFAS chemicals. EWG is in our corner, and now I am asking for you to be in its corner. The only way they are able to do their important work is with the contributions of individuals like you. EWG is just a day away from an important fundraising deadline on December 31. If they fall short of their goal, it puts all of their work at risk, including on PFAS chemicals. I am asking for 250 individuals to make a donation today to EWG. Can I count on you to be one of them? PFAS chemicals are dangerous, they’re everywhere and they’re forever. In the decades since the dangers of PFAS first came to light, little progress has been made to clean up PFAS contamination. That’s why I have joined EWG in speaking to Congress about the urgent need for protections from these toxic chemicals. In October, the EPA outlined its PFAS strategic roadmap, including setting enforceable limits for PFAS in drinking water by 2023 and designating PFAS as hazardous substances under the Superfund cleanup law. This is a critical first step, and it would not have happened without EWG and supporters like you fighting to get these toxic chemicals out of our environment. But there is more to be done to get these “forever chemicals” out of our environment. EWG needs to keep up its PFAS research and advocacy so we can protect the thousands of communities who are exposed to these chemicals in their air and water. Your donation today allows them to do that. I’m asking for just 250 individuals to make a donation today to EWG. Will you be one of them? Thanks for standing with us, friend. Mark Ruffalo |
