Marching with nurses for Medicare For All

[link removed]
Hi John,

This past weekend I took part in a Medicare for All rally hosted by the Nurses Union. Together, we called on Nancy Pelosi to stand with patients, nurses, her CA-12 constituents, and with millions of people across the country who support Medicare For All.

At the rally, I walked around asking people why they support Medicare For All and heard many personal stories. One comment that stayed with me came from David, a Canadian, talking about his interaction with the American healthcare system: "I never want to experience that again. How can Americans stand it?"

Do you want to see Medicare for All championed in Congress? ([link removed])

For many nurses, watching patients with their families decide between paying for health care and prescriptions or basic needs like rent and food is an everyday occurrence. Medical bills remain the single largest cause of consumer bankruptcy in the U.S.

Since Nancy Pelosi took office, the American healthcare system has become the most expensive in the world, even as U.S. life expectancy decreases and we lag behind other wealthy countries on most health outcome measures.

** We can do better

It’s time for new leadership, in step with what San Francisco voters have been asking for. I run a grassroots campaign so I can support constituent preferences like Medicare For All. Meanwhile hospitals and insurance are among the top industries contributing money to Nancy Pelosi.
