Hi John: We're so close to meeting today's important goal for refugee and displaced families. That's why I wanted to send you this email before I log off for the day.
I also wanted to make sure you didn't miss Najwan's heart-wrenching story — I've included it below.
Because the need is so urgent — as a brutal winter sets in for families like Najwan's — an anonymous donor will match your gift today »
Please don't wait, John. Rush your emergency donation right now — before the match total is met — to make sure your gift has 2X the impact for refugee families around the world: [link removed]

John,
We just got out of a team meeting, and we knew we had to share what we heard with you.
This is Najwan, a Syrian mother who was forced to flee her home because of violent conflict. She now lives in a temporary shelter with her daughter, Sarra. Najwan shared her concerns about the winter with one of our IRC colleagues:
"I'm sorry to say this but we live in a tent which means we'll suffer from the wind, dust storms and low temperatures. I'm scared that with the harsh wind the heater might fall down on my kids. I'm scared of what the dust storms will do to the tent. May God help us. She (my daughter) was nine months old when she was in a dangerous condition. She started to vanish, I felt like she wasn't a baby anymore, she was so sick to the point that people were telling me she needs a grave. God forbid, I felt back then that I was losing my baby."
As temperatures drop, refugee families like Najwan's are in desperate need of shelter, health care and winter supplies. If you can, please rush your year-end donation now to help us deliver the assistance refugee families need to survive. Your gift will be matched today.
2X YOUR GIFT » [link removed]
As soon as we read Najwan's heartbreaking words, we knew we had to share them with you.
Najwan's story is like so many of our clients around the world — displaced by violent conflict and struggling to survive in a temporary shelter without adequate food or health care. For families like this, a harsh winter can exacerbate the crises they are already facing and cut them off from urgently-needed humanitarian aid.
The IRC is helping refugee families survive, recover and rebuild their lives. We are on the ground treating malnutrition in children, distributing winter coats, hats, boots and gloves and more.
But we need your help. If you make a tax-deductible year-end donation right now, your gift will be matched to make 2X the difference for families — like Najwan's — who are facing hunger worsened by a brutal winter.

Thanks for all you do for the families we serve,
