Hi John, I’ve said it all year: Change has not come easy.

With the narrowest of margins, up against Republican obstructionists and the GOP disinformation machine, House Democrats have produced results to tackle the myriad of crises we’re facing.

We passed a historic infrastructure bill to modernize our grid. We passed a COVID-19 recovery bill to expand access to vaccines and deliver relief to the families and small businesses who desperately needed it. And we did our part to pass a life-changing spending bill to reduce everyday costs for working families and invest in climate action.

But the resounding feeling as we head into 2022 is this: Despite all we’ve already accomplished, our work is not yet over.

The pandemic is not over. Families are still struggling to put food on the table. The Child Tax Credits we fought so hard for are set to expire. Student loan payments will resume next month. Access to legal abortion care is still at risk, along with access to the ballot box.

I’m looking toward 2022 with renewed energy and determination. We can’t afford to step back in the face of adversity — we have a responsibility to deliver. And with a journey ahead full of unknowns, I need to know you’re with me.
