Republicans have made it clear retaking the House majority in 2022 is their top priority. They've named Kim's seat a top target to flip and they have a historical advantage going into next year – the president's party typically loses ground in the midterm elections.

To make matters more difficult, the new maps drawn by Washington's redistricting commission make our race even more competitive and three Republican challengers have already entered the race against Kim.

A top election forecaster from Cook Political Report told the Seattle Times that our race is going to be a "toss-up," so we need to get to work right away to ensure we have the resources to spread Kim's message across our new district.
