It’s almost been a year since the January 6th insurrection, and we still don’t have answers about what happened. But we do have hardworking Democrats doing their best to defend our democracy and uncover the truth – like New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District Representative Andy Kim.

On the morning of January 6th, dangerous, right-wing Trump loyalists stormed the Capitol hoping to overturn the results of the election, inflicting violence on Capitol police, and threatening members of Congress.

People were killed and injured, and they left our Capitol building in complete disrepair.

In the aftermath of one of the darkest and most painful days of recent history, Andy decided to clean up the mess left by the insurrectionists and their Republican elected officials. An unremarkable act, but one symbolic of the state our country is in -- Democrats have been cleaning up the mess left by Trump and his extreme followers since the day President Biden took office.

But Trumpism is still alive and well in America, and more and more right-wing Republicans are coming out of the woodwork to run for Congress. If they have it their way, Trump will be President again in 2024, and the new heart of the Republican party -- the far-right extremists -- will be in control of the House and the Senate.

And they’d only need to flip five House seats to make part of that dream a reality.

So, John, you know what’s at stake -- the very fabric and integrity of our Democracy. Vulnerable House Democrats, including Andy, need to defend their seats from Republican challengers, but in order to do that they need resources.
