In the Senate, arcane rules like the filibuster allow special interests and billionaires to prevent votes on popular bills that challenge their power. As I type this note, the filibuster is blocking critical legislation to secure the right to vote and challenge the power of big money in our lawmaking process.
With the midterm elections just around the corner, we need the Senate to act now to reform the filibuster. That’s why I’m proud to be leading Our Revolution’s grassroots organizing work to pressure corporate Democrats and elect real progressives in 2022 by empowering our hundreds of active groups across America.
Securing voting rights is essential to stopping a Republican takeover in November, and we need to act now.
