Support our final push to pass the most important climate change legislation in history

Hi friend,

Tomorrow is the last day of 2021 — and a major fundraising deadline here at LCV.

How much we raise in the next 24 hours will make or break the final stage of our campaign to pass the strongest climate legislation in history: the Build Back Better Act.

We set a goal of raising $50,000 before midnight. We're asking for your help to meet it »

Meeting that goal matters. Not just because the bill is our last, best shot to cut U.S. climate pollution in half. Not just because it'd mean a massive expansion of clean energy jobs and investments in environmental justice communities. Not just because it would help clean up the water we drink and the air we breathe.

The truth is — how much we raise now helps all of our campaigns go further. Here are just a few examples of the difference your contribution can make:

REASON #1: The Biden administration announced last month that it is considering new protections against oil and gas leasing around Chaco Culture National Historical Park in New Mexico. Indigenous communities have been working for generations to secure protections for this sacred landscape — and are facing enormous opposition from Republicans as well as the oil and gas industry. We need your help to support the Biden administration to follow through and secure lasting protections for Chaco Canyon despite these attacks »

REASON #2: We're supporting a major organizing and advocacy effort to encourage President Biden to designate Avi Kwa Ame in Nevada as a National Monument — an area spanning 380,000 acres that includes sacred Indigenous sites and diverse wildlife in the Mojave Desert. Winning this campaign is possible, but it's only going to happen if the environmental movement shows up in a major way »

REASON #3: We're pushing the Biden administration to swiftly impose the most stringent emissions standards possible to put cleaner heavy-duty vehicles on the road and reduce truck pollution. This is a fight we can win — and it will make a huge difference in cleaning up air pollution, especially in low-wealth and communities of color who suffer the most from breathing dirty air. If you're on board, I hope you'll pitch in today — even if it's just $5 »

REASON #4: 2022 is going to be a major election year — one that will be absolutely critical for the environment. Your contribution will help build the environmental movement at a time when we absolutely need all hands on deck. Donate now, and your contribution will go even further »

REASON #5: Because Our Earth is worth fighting for… a world with clean air, clean water, public lands and a safe climate, protected by a just and equitable democracy. We are a powerful force to ensure a livable planet for future generations, and we need your help with a year-end contribution to continue this work »

Our historic grassroots campaign to pass the Build Back Better Act has run far longer than anticipated — and resources are tight. We have built tremendous momentum, and we need the help of every LCV supporter today to fund and win this campaign and our work for climate action, environmental justice, public lands, clean air, and democracy.

Please — make a year end contribution to LCV today. This once-in-a- generation moment for climate progress is too important to miss. Even $5 has an impact »

Sincerely,
