Dear John,

As we prepare to head into the new year, millions of older Americans will continue to struggle financially to afford the high cost of gas, food, housing and out-of-pocket health care expenses.

While Social Security beneficiaries can expect a 5.9% Social Security Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) in 2022, it will be quickly eaten up by rising costs and a much higher monthly Medicare Part B premium ($21.60). And legislation continues to stall in Congress that would give older Americans meaningful financial relief.

That’s why we must be prepared as soon as Congress reconvenes and begins their next legislative session to fight for our priorities for older citizens and ensure our voice is heard throughout the halls of Congress.

Will you please help the National Committee reach our critical end-of-year fundraising goal of $50,000 by making a generous gift of $10 or $5 today? Your donation will help ensure we have the resources we need to defeat any proposed cuts to earned benefits and fight for legislation that would improve Social Security and Medicare benefits!

Right now, we are gearing up to launch a massive campaign to press U.S. Senators to pass the stalled Build Back Better Act that will help older Americans afford their prescription drugs and expand Medicare to cover hearing aids and examinations. We’re also preparing to put enormous pressure on lawmakers to pass the “Social Security 2100: A Sacred Trust Act” that would boost Social Security benefits and require the wealthy to pay their fair share into the program.

John, with so much at stake, I hope I can count you with us as we fight to protect and strengthen Social Security and Medicare in the year ahead!

As a reminder, the National Committee relies solely on the generosity of our million+ members and supporters — and every dollar makes a difference in our fight! So please make your year-end gift today to help the National Committee wage a winning battle on behalf of you, your family and your earned benefits!

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
President & CEO
