John – This is Amanda, Josh Shapiro’s finance director. Here’s where we stand right now with our budget: We’re a day out from the most crucial fundraising deadline we’ve faced so far, and we’re falling short of our benchmarks.

If we don’t turn this around fast, then come January 1st, we’re going to face some extremely hard choices. Choices like, “Do we cut back our Democratic turnout operation OR do we run fewer digital ads to combat GOP misinformation?”

I’ll be real, John — Pennsylvania is likely to be the closest state in the country next year, and every decision like that has big implications for this race and for our democracy.

There’s no state where the Big Lie has had more of an impact than here in Pennsylvania.

We’ve seen a sham “audit.” We’ve seen frivolous lawsuits attacking our democracy (which Josh defeated one after another in court). We’ve even seen texts directly from Mark Meadows’ phone plotting to overturn our election results.

Holding the Governor’s office is the last line of defense for stopping these assaults on our elections. We know it, but our Republican opponents know it, too.
