Hi John,

Nothing is more central to our everyday work for wildlife than the Endangered Species Act.

And in 2022, we'll be in court to restore the Act's full power after Trump tried to break it down.

It'll be the fight of a lifetime — and we need your help.

Please make a matched gift now to the Saving Life on Earth Fund. Fewer than 48 hours remain to double your donation.

The Trump administration changed how critical habitat is defined, limiting protections for forests, rivers and other areas where endangered species could recover in the future.

As it currently stands, corporate interests can destroy the habitat of species that are at risk — and then claim that since wildlife doesn't live there at the moment, the habitat needs no protection.

It's a feedback loop of destruction that will doom creatures like northern spotted owls and dusky gopher frogs to extinction.

Species with designated critical habitat are twice as likely to recover as those without it.

You can't save species — and you can't stop the extinction crisis — without protecting the lands and waters they're able to live in. It's just not possible.

Over the past 30 years, the Center has locked in protections for 727 species and more than half a billion acres of habitat.

We're in ongoing legal battles to save species like manatees, gray wolves, grizzlies, lynxes and many others.

And we're looking forward to our day in court to strengthen the Act, which saves more than 99% of species that come under its protection.

We'll win these critical battles because that's what we do. And what we have to do.

We're ready — but we need you with us.

So please — double your gift now to our Saving Life on Earth Fund and help us protect more. All gifts through tomorrow night will be matched dollar for dollar.

For the wild,
