3 steps you can take today to prove that Americans from across the political spectrum support the impeachment inquiry.
[link removed] [[link removed]]Friend,
If the last three years have proven anything, it’s that many of our elected leaders won’t stand up for our Constitution and the rule of law unless we hold their feet to the fire. Right now, they need to feel the pressure more than ever.
The House of Representatives has laid out their plans to investigate fully the president’s misdeeds and corrupt dealings and advance articles of impeachment if the evidence demands it. But the vote on the impeachment inquiry was sadly partisan, with no House Republicans breaking ranks to help find the truth. It’s disappointing to see so many putting their partisan self-interests above our nation’s interest.
Thankfully, last week’s vote won’t be the last vote, and every member of Congress will have ample opportunities to make the right choice. They can stand up for the rule of law at any time by participating in good faith and demanding accurate, honest investigations into the evidence.
Our Members of Congress need to hear from us. They need to know that we’re watching and will hold them accountable if they continue blocking serious investigations into wrongdoing.
That’s why I’m asking you to take 3 steps today to prove that Americans from across the political spectrum support this inquiry.
1: Call your Representative [[link removed]] - Follow the link and fill out the form, and we’ll connect you directly to your member’s office. Tell them personally that you insist they uphold their oath and support the inquiry.
2: Email your Representative [[link removed]] - Use our pre-written message, or write your own. Either way, make sure they have it in writing, that you support the inquiry.
3: Share our new ad ‘Oath’ [[link removed]] - Nothing is stronger than simply reminding them of the oath they took to support and defend the Constitution. That’s what our ad does. So help us spread the message by sharing with your friends on your favorite social media sites, and of course, tagging your Representative in the post.
When we send our representatives to Washington, we do it knowing that we won’t always agree. But we do have the right to expect them to serve our interests, and not the interests of a single party or person. When they refuse to cooperate with legitimate oversight and investigations, they’re not just trampling on their own branch of government, they’re letting all of us down.
So help us make sure they know what we expect of them. If they agree, great. Thank them for taking corruption and lawlessness seriously. If they don’t, make sure they know that they will have more chances to do the right thing, but they won’t get your support without changing their tune.
-- Mike
