Hey John — This is Jeff, Val’s husband, reaching out before her campaign’s very last fundraising deadline of the year to tell you why I know we need her in the U.S. Senate.

Val and I met in Philadelphia at an event supporting a local theater. Our first date was a bike ride from the Art Museum to Valley Forge National Park. I knew immediately that Val was passionate, determined, and willing to work hard to do something good for those in her community.

In the time since that first date, I’ve watched Val put others before herself throughout her entire career. For years, I watched her put patients first – even at seven months pregnant with our twins, she was still taking overnight calls. I watched her take the train to Washington several days a week to fight for health care for millions of Americans as head of a physicians organization in the lead up to the Affordable Care Act.

And as she has led our third-largest county through the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been in awe of how she has used her experience and medical expertise to keep our neighbors in Montgomery County safe and healthy.

So when Val decided along with our family that she would run for U.S. Senate, I wasn’t just proud of her – I knew our country would be better off with her in Washington.

She makes decisions based on science, facts, and data, not politics. And frankly, we could use more people like her in the Senate.
