Now that we’re only a few days out from 2022, I want you to hear this from me:
Our race isn’t going to be a slam dunk. It’s going to be an uphill battle.
But I want to be clear -- that doesn’t mean this is impossible. Far from it.
Our average online contribution is only $24. [[link removed]] That’s because this grassroots team is made up of folks who contribute what they can when they can because they’re passionate about making a real difference in the lives of New Jerseyans and Americans across the country.

But I want to be realistic about the obstacles in front of us. Experts say that the GOP’s performance in the New Jersey governor’s race could “mean trouble for House Democrats” like me in 2022.
And the NRCC made me one of only 10 redistricting targets. We won’t know what our new district may look like until the new year, but we need to be prepared for the possibility that it could look quite different in 2022. And that means we might have to reach voters who aren’t as familiar with me or my work in Congress.
We need to talk to those voters about the progress we’re making on the Gateway Tunnel Project, restoring the SALT deduction, and making childcare more affordable for New Jersey families.
And that means we need to plant yard signs, pass out voter literature, make calls, and run ads to reach those voters.
