"A decade from now, will the world say that 2021 was the year the United
States squandered its democracy?"

That’s the question the New York Times recently posed to its readers. As
2021 ends, it's a real question.

Between the January 6th insurrection, Congressional Republicans turning
against an independent inquiry into the insurrection, Republican-led state
legislatures pushing new laws to restrict voting rights, and Democratic
Secretaries of State receiving death threats for not subscribing to the
Big Lie, 2021 has been horrifying for our democracy.

[ [link removed] ]The Democratic Association of Secretaries of State is our ally fighting
to protect democracy and elect pro-democracy, pro-voting rights
Secretaries of State nationwide. Can you join thousands of PCCC members
chipping in today?

The New York Times is issuing this grave warning:

"If Republicans prevail, America will become one of those faraway,
seemingly lawless places where every election is in doubt and no part of
our political culture remains above the partisan fray.

"Democrats have a narrow window now to 'recognize the existential threat
not just to their party but to the country as a whole. But if they don’t
do that, then the ship is going to hit the iceberg.' And then we’re all
sunk.”

[ [link removed] ]Please chip in today to our ally fighting to protect democracy and
elect pro-democracy, pro-voting rights Secretaries of State nationwide.
The time is now -- more than ever -- to protect our democracy.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
