As we approach the end of the year, I want to take a moment to tell you
about our work to Flip the South, specifically focusing on Texas.

Right now, Texas has two very important primaries taking place in just 62
days and we’ve already endorsed two candidates looking to build
progressive power in the state.

Jessica Cisneros - TX 28 is taking on ultra-conservative Democrat Henry
Cuellar, the only Democrat to vote against both abortions rights and the
Pro Act.

Greg Casar - TX 35 is a current Austin City Councilor running for an open
seat as he looks to bring his experience organizing for labor policy
protections to Congress.

Our electoral team is supporting Jessica, Greg, and other candidates
throughout the south who are working to build progressive power on the
local, state, and federal levels.

Throughout 2022, DFA will be on the ground working to register new voters
and supporting our candidates as they build the inclusive campaigns needed
to Flip the South.

Since voters will be making their voices heard at the polls early next
year, each day that passes leaves us with a shorter window to get out the
vote, especially for bold progressives like Jessica Cisneros and Greg
Casar.

If we’re going to help our endorsed candidates win by organizing voters
early: knocking on doors and phone and text banking we need to hit our
fundraising goals.
