Friend –

There are just two days left in 2021, and I wanted to give a quick update that we're still short of our year-end goal of 52,000 supporter donations to our 2022 Action Fund by December 31.

ACLU supporters like you, ACLU Supporter, can get us where we need to be by showing up for the civil liberties you care about: Make a generous and urgently-needed gift today.

I saw the impact of commitment like yours in my work every day this year when state legislatures trampled on the rights of transgender youth – and ACLU lawyers were able to block those laws one by one thanks to our supporters' giving.

For example, we stopped a law in Arkansas that would have denied gender-affirming, life-saving health care to transgender youth.

We argued the first appeals court case about a law banning trans women and girls from sports in Idaho.

We secured a Supreme Court decision that let stand Gavin Grimm's hard-won victory for trans-inclusive restroom policies in Virginia.

And in the face of restrictive, harmful laws all across the country, we will never stop fighting for the rights of LGBTQ people to be fully and freely themselves.

But these attacks aren't slowing down – in fact, we only expect them to escalate more in the coming year. That's why your support for our 2022 Action Fund will be crucial up ahead – as we work both defensively and affirmatively to:

* Continue battling anti-trans discrimination in athletics and protecting access to gender-affirming health care that saves lives

* Eliminating barriers to accurate state and federal IDs for trans, non-binary and intersex people

* Litigate and bring attention to systemic over-policing of transgender women of color

The fight for full trans justice and equality is nowhere near over, but the ACLU, with our staff and volunteers in every state plus D.C. and Puerto Rico, is uniquely equipped to win the crucial battles ahead – on LGBTQ rights and all civil liberties under threat right now.

But we can't do that without you.

That's why I'm urging you, if you haven't already done so, to make a generous year-end gift to the ACLU's 2022 Action Fund now.
