Our Democratic majority in the Senate isn’t as strong as we’d like it to be — it’s a 50-50 split with Vice President Kamala Harris serving as the tiebreaker.

That means Mitch McConnell only has to flip one seat to reclaim control of the Senate and unravel all of the progress we’ve made in 2021. We can’t let that happen.

But the truth is, McConnell already has the upper hand. Historically, the president’s party loses Congressional seats during their first term — remember, in 2010 Democrats lost six seats in the Senate and 63 seats in the House.

This time around, our majorities are significantly slimmer.
