MSF teams are on the ground to provide urgent medical care

Friend,
2021 has been a year of extremes: severe weather events, a continuing pandemic, and violent conflict contributing to massive migration.
Many MSF projects already operate in extreme situations. As medical needs change, it’s not uncommon for these extreme situations to get even more complicated. But no matter what, MSF teams are committed to providing medical aid where it’s needed most.
Four months after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck southern Haiti, MSF teams are providing medical care and assistance in many parts of the country, thanks to supporters like you, Friend.
Maintaining health care services in Haiti is a massive challenge. Since the quake, there have been fuel and clean water shortages that have forced many health centers to close, rising insecurity and violence in Port-au-Prince, and thousands of people displaced. There are constantly new and unexpected obstacles that force MSF’s teams on the ground to adapt.
“I don’t know what our patients would do if MSF couldn’t provide them with free health care anymore,” said Tania Joachim, an operating theater nurse at MSF's burns and trauma hospital in Tabarre. "The situation in Haiti is catastrophic. I only hope it could change."
Friend, thanks to supporters like you, MSF is able to provide medical aid where it’s needed most. But when extreme situations get even more complicated and our teams must adapt, minutes matter – like when we need to send a mobile clinic to the scene.
A donation from you right now will help supply MSF teams around the world with what they need to provide urgent care in any conditions.
P.S. If your year-end gift and our email have crossed paths, we sincerely thank you for your generosity!
