John -- this is a long email about my upbringing and how it inspired me to become a teacher and run for office. I hope you take a moment to read until the end, then consider chipping in $3 toward my final end-of-quarter deadline of the year.
I grew up in a small working class town here in California.
My dad was a teacher, and my mom was a secretary.
At first, my parents couldn't afford to send me to a university -- so I started at community college instead. Like many students at the time, I paid my way through school by working part time.
I understand the struggles that families face. That’s why I became a teacher. And it’s why -- after 20 years as an educator -- it's crystal clear that opportunities to get ahead are being cut short by politicians like Kevin McCarthy.
McCarthy has represented us for nearly 15 years with NOTHING to show for it except his own self-serving promotions. Meanwhile, working parents work longer hours, wages have stagnated, and it’s the ultra-wealthy who get richer and richer.
I'm running for Congress because I’m through with Kevin McCarthy's blatant disregard for our community, and I'm asking you to join me:
Our community is repulsed by McCarthy, but if we’re going to reach more voters about our campaign, we can't afford to come up short of our final end-of-quarter deadline of the year. Can you kick in $3 today to help us meet the mark?
