THE GREEN PARTY IS MY POLITICAL HOME. [1]

I grew up in a politically active family. Social justice and protecting
the environment are core values for me. Alleviating poverty and suffering.
Standing in solidarity with those who are oppressed. Ensuring that the
environment we all depend on for survival is protected for future
generations. These are far more important to me than the accumulation of
personal wealth. I joined the Green Party of Canada because of the six core
values: Social Justice, Ecological Wisdom, Respect for Diversity,
Non-Violence, Participatory Democracy and Sustainability. These values
reflect the values I grew up with.

Canada's other political parties are rooted in protecting the status quo.
They talk about climate action and upholding Indigenous rights, but support
the construction of fracking pipelines and destruction of old growth
forests. They sanction the violent arrests of land defenders pushing back
against the status quo. And this year there were more arrests than ever
before.

Greens know that the status quo is not good enough. We need to change the
way we live on this planet, and live with each other. Our children and
grandchildren are depending on us to make those changes now. THAT’S WHY
I’M SUPPORTING THE GREEN PARTY BY MAKING A YEAR END DONATION, AND I’M
ASKING YOU TO JOIN ME. [1]

2021 has been a difficult year. Wildfires, droughts, heat waves, severe
storms, and flooding have shown us that climate change is not a distant
threat, it's a current reality. The affordability crisis, growing
inequality, the ongoing pandemic, and an overstretched healthcare system
have shown us that we need to do a better job taking care of each other. We
need a stronger social safety net. Now more than ever Canada needs a strong
Green Party.

GIVE TODAY [1]This has been a difficult year for our party. I had hoped to
be back in the House of Commons this fall, with many more Green MP's. That
is not how things worked out, but as a party we're turning a corner. We
have a new Federal Council that represents the diversity of our country.
Our interim leader Amita Kuttner is working hard to rebuild the party.
There will be a new leadership race next year. We have many reasons for
hope in 2022.

Now, more than ever, the Green Party needs your continued support. I hope
you'll join me in making a year end contribution. With another minority
parliament we could find ourselves in another election within 12 to 18
months. Your contribution, no matter the amount, will help with the work
that needs to be done. Together, we can make a difference. [1]
