When we started our end-of-year fundraising drive with Ed’s email on Monday afternoon, we honestly didn’t know what to expect.
We knew we had supporters all across the country who have stepped up at times like these before, but we also knew that Friday’s deadline is a major one — and we were pacing behind our goal.
It started with $35 from Fred, a writer in Los Angeles. A couple minutes later, Kristin from Boston made their $50 contribution. Then $3 from Heather in Mars Hill, Maine, and another $3 from Raphael in Norfolk, Mass.
We were off to the races.
So far, hundreds of people across the country have chipped in to support our campaign — and they’re all counting on you to do the same. What do you say?
As you may know, the vast majority of the contributions we receive are just like these ones — small-dollar, grassroots donors chipping in what they can, mostly from emails like this one.
We know $3 doesn’t seem like the kind of money that can fund an entire re-election campaign, or keep our organizing operation up and running. But the fact is that when you add your $3, and someone else adds theirs, it all adds up.
We proved that in 2020, and at big deadline moments like these in the past. And with two days to go, our team is confident we can do it again — but only if we’re all in this together.
