A Request from DSA-SB's Anti-Imperialist Working Group--Tell UCSB Administrators to Stop Chasing Military Contracts!

 

Please sign the DSA-SB endorsed petition, "UCSB, Sever Ties with the War Machine" and share it with friends to double the number of signatories, now at 453, before the petition is delivered to UCSB administrators. Urge Chancellor Yang not to renew or pursue new military-related research contracts. Our brilliant science and engineering students deserve better than to become cheap labor for war profiteers who capitalize off of human suffering. In addition to partnering with the Department of Defense, UCSB also steers graduate students into weapons projects with private for-profit war profiteers; Raytheon Technologies, Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin.

 

Raytheon provides Saudi Arabia with weapons for its war on Yemen, where hundreds of thousands of civilians have been killed. Sixteen million face starvation because of a Saudi blockade enforced by Raytheon's missiles. Northrop Grumman develops missiles for the Israeli Air Force and surveillance drones to police the U.S.-Mexico border. Lockheed Martin manufactures the Hellfire missiles used for drone assassinations in Iraq.
